These terms apply to the Sober Tools website and Big Book Companion. By using these resources, you agree to these terms. ChatGPT is provided separately by OpenAI and is subject to the OpenAI terms applicable to your account.

Educational purpose

Big Book Companion is an independent educational reference and study guide for the Fourth Edition of Alcoholics Anonymous. It helps users locate passages, explore the Twelve Steps, prepare for meetings, and reflect on spiritual concepts.

It supplements reading and discussion. It does not replace working with an A.A. sponsor, participating in meetings and fellowship, or reading the original literature. It does not provide medical, mental-health, or addiction-treatment advice.

Free access and availability

Sober Tools does not charge a fee to use Big Book Companion within ChatGPT. Use remains subject to ChatGPT’s availability, account requirements, and usage limits. Any charges for a ChatGPT subscription are separate from Big Book Companion.

Features and availability may change. Continuous access is not guaranteed.

Accuracy and interpretation

AI-generated answers can contain errors. Check quotations, page numbers, and interpretations against the Fourth Edition and official A.A. sources before relying on or sharing them.

Study questions and reflections are educational suggestions, not authoritative interpretations or guarantees of recovery outcomes.

Independence and intellectual property

Big Book Companion and Sober Tools are not affiliated with, sponsored, endorsed, or approved by Alcoholics Anonymous World Services, Inc., Alcoholics Anonymous, or any A.A. service entity.

Names and references to A.A. publications identify the works discussed. Their copyrights and trademarks remain with their respective owners. These resources do not grant permission to reproduce copyrighted A.A. literature.

Responsible use

Use the website and plugin lawfully and respect other people’s rights and privacy. Do not provide material you are not entitled to share, attempt to disrupt the service, or use it to bypass ChatGPT’s restrictions.
